My own dear Sweeheart
I wish I had the time and the news to write you really nice long interesting letters - you must long for letters from all the house folks while you are ill in bed. I shall be so glad to see a letter from you with the postmark "Malta" on it. You can understand how hopeless it is to really realize you are ill until we get details. It seems so unnatural for you to be laid up and when I think of it I begin imagining all sorts of things that may have happened to you and then have to brace myself up to be patient until I get news. Your telegram relieved the worst of our anxiety but we do want to know where and how you were hit.
I will write from Badsey on Sunday and give you news of all the house peoople. Mary is getting on well and her baby is said to be like Juliet which is tantamount to saying she is like Arthur!
News seems more hopeful in the papers and we constantly get rumours that we are through the Dardanelles but it is contradicted almost at the same moment!
Best love, dearest, don't forget I am with you in spirit all the time. I wish you could come home to me if only for a short time. God bless you and give you His Healing.
