My own dear Cyril
I have only 20 minutes in which to write you a few lines, your next letter will be a longer one – more interesting because tomorrow I shall be meeting Kath and May. We are meeting at Leamington so as to have longer together. They will arrive at 3.6 and my train gets in at 3.16. It is only a half day but this arrangement will give us several hours together.
We've had a large convoy in from Gallipoli the day before yesterday. They tell us that the 11th, 13th and 29th Divisions are at Cape Helles and that only the Australians and New Zealanders have been sent to Salonika. I was very sorry to hear this as I simply long for you to get away from the Peninsula. HMS Persia has been sunk by the enemy and with it the Egyptian and Indian mail bags so quite likely you will not receive some of my letters – in case you don't I must thank you again Sweetheart for your lovely Xmas present, I am longing to wear it sometime when you are with me.
I must away to duty, old fellow, am rather tired so would much prefer to go to bed!
Best love darling – God bless you.
Ever your devoted
Mela
