My dear Eugénie
By this morning’s post, we received news of the Hodson children.
Miss MacKenzie of Brussels, now staying at Folkestone, sent Florence a note, in which she writes:
“I had a long letter from Miss Doyle (from Brussels) yesterday, giving news up to the 2nd of November. She mentioned that Mrs Hodson’s children were expected home now, they had spent three days in a cellar while the fighting was going on.”
From this it would appear that Madame Michot had not been able to get them away from Crocodile in time, but that she will have obtained leave from the Germans to hand the children over to their parents.
Florence’s bronchial cough is very persistent, I think we shall have to go to a warmer place.
Your affectionate brother
Fred
