APRIL BRIDE
Miss A. Lees-Milne Wed
at Wickhamford
The historic parish church of Wickhamford was the scene of a fashionable wedding on Thursday afternoon between Miss Audrey Lees-Milne, only daughter of George C. Lees-Milne, of The Manor, Wickhamford, and the Hon. Matthew Arthur, son and heir of Lord and Lady Glenarthur, of Carling, Ayrshire.
The bride wore a gown of coloured parchment tulle, a Juliet cap of pearls, and an exquisite veil of Brussels lace which was worn by her great-great-grandmother.
She was attended by four tiny little maids, the Misses R. and H. Studd (cousins of the bridegroom) and the Misses Diana Craven and Jean Bannerman (friends of the bride).
They made a picturesque retinue in their dainty dresses of pink spotted muslin sahed with wide ribbon and frilled to the ground.
Each child carried a posy of spring flowers of different hues.
Mr. Philip Campbell, the bridegroom’s friend, was best man, and the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Canon W. Allsebrook, vicar of Badsey and Wickhamford and rural dean for Evesham.
