Rose Garden Fete - It is proposed to hold an open air fete at Seward House, Badsey, early in July, in aid of Badsey Church Belfry Fund. Besides the attraction of Mr Sladden's rose garden, which should then be in full beauty, an open air vocal and instrumental concert is being arranged, a ping-pong tournament will be held, and other attractions provided. Full particulars will shortly appear in our advertisement columns.
The Coronation - The Parish Magazine says the Coronation will be celebrated by religious services and general rejoicing throughout the Empire. The services at Badsey will be as follows: 8 am Holy Communion, 11 am the Official Service, as authorized by the Archbishop of Canterbury, by command of the King, to be used throughout the kingdom. With regard to the social side of the celebration of the day, the following is the programme which it is hoped will be carried out. There will be dinner for adults in Mr Sladden's barn at 12.30 pm; sports for children at 2 pm, tea for women and children at 4pm and sports of adults at 4.30 pm. A large and representative Committee has been appointed to carry out the arrangements, and they hope to be able to provide fireworks in the evening if sufficient funds are forthcoming. We understand that such similar programme is being arranged for the parishioners at Wickhamford and Aldington.
