In an envelope, addressed by Wilfred, I received by this mail an Order of the Day, No 121, in which your name appears in the list for the DSO. It has been given you for the Baku operations I am certain, by the way it is worded. A day or two previous to this I got your letter of December 17th and an earlier one dated in October. In the latter you tell me of an award being given you but you did not state what it was. I guessed it must be the DSO, my darling man. You have done splendidly and I am just aching to hug you and tell you how proud I am of you. I’ve sent copies of the account to your Father and to my Mother. Your people will be absolutely delighted, they are immensely proud of you and the boys are so interested and proud to hear of your doings. George said he was longing to see you again when I was down at Badsey for the New Year week. I wrote from there and gave you an account of all the home folks.
Demobilization of QMAAC members has begun in some camps but not yet in this one. It soon will though, I think. I wrote to you early this week – this is an extra!
You say in your letter of Dec 17th that you wonder if we shall ever see each other again. One does feel like that at times. I get fits of depression every now and again in spite of struggling against them.
