HORNE, Francis (Will)

In the name of God Amen the 30th day of July anno domini 1636, I Francis Horne of Badsey in the county and diocese of Worcester being sick in body but of good and perfect memory God be blessed, therefore I do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

First I gave and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping to be saved by the resurrection death and passion of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and my body decently to be buried in the parish churchyard of Badsey above and as for all my worldly goods, cattle and chattels, I give and bequeath as followeth:

• Imprimus by these presents, unto my well-beloved wife, Margarett Horne, for and in consideration of the brooding of my children all my holdings and land situate lying and being in the parish of Badsey, to have and to hold the said holdings and land unto my said beloved wife and of her assigns from the day of the date hereof forming 11 whole years from the fourth next and immediately ensuing and fully to be …. And ordered
• And after the said 11 years my will is that my will the beloved wife Margarett Horne shall have the third of my house and land for and during her natural life
• And I make and ordain my well-beloved son Ralph Horne to have and enjoy the other two parts of my house and land after the expiration of the said 11 years and after to enjoy the whole house and land after decease of his mother Margarett Horne
• Item I give, devise and bequeath unto my well-beloved daughter Elinor Horne the sum of £30 of current English money to be paid her by my executor within one year after my decease
• Item I give to my said son Ralph Horne the sum of £5 of current English money to be paid him by my executor when he shall accomplish the age of 21 years
• Item I give unto my daughter Ann Horne the sum of £20 to be paid by my executor when she shall accomplish the age of 14 years
• Item I give unto my son John Horne the sum of £20 of current English monies to be paid him by my executor to be set forth to him when he shall accomplish the age of 16 years and to be paid it unto himself when he shall accomplish the age of 21 years
• Item I give unto my sister Margery Roper the wife of Thomas Roper of Wickhamford the sum of 40 shillings to be paid her within one year after my decease by my executor
• Item I give unto eight Ringers 8 shillings
• Item I give to the poor of Badsey 8 shillings
• Item all the rest of my goods, cattle and chattels, ready monies and [?] below by me and in this my present will not devised now bequeathed my firm and all rights discharged and debts paid 
• I give devise and bequeath unto my well-beloved wife, Margarett Horne, whom I institute appoint ordain and made my full and whole executrix of this may will and testament and I appoint John Morris my brother-in-law and Robert Morris overseers of this my last will and testament and all former wills I utterly revoke and dismiss

On the 27th day February in the year of our Lord God according and at the computation of the Church of England 1653, a commission of letters of administration by Ralph Horne and John Horne, the natural and lawful sons of Francis Horne late of Badsey in the county of Worcester deceased to administer the goods, chattels and debts of the said deceased according to the terms of his last will and testament for that Margarett Horne his relict and expiring before such time as she had taken upon her the  [?] of the said will as she departed this life they the said administrators being first sworn by virtue of a special commission well and truly to administer.
