Details of Will

This is the last will and testament of me Richard Ashwin of the hamlet of Aldington in the parish of Badsey in the county of Worcester Gentleman.  I bequeath all those my 80 shares in the Worcester City and County Banking Company to George Lavender Eades and John Walter Eades, sons of my friend George Eades of Evesham in the county of Worcester, Gentleman, as tenants in common subject nevertheless to the payment by them of such sums of money or calls thereon as shall become payable after my decease.  I bequeath to my two nieces Caroline and Ellen, the daughters of my sister Caroline, the wife of Charles Randell of Chadbury in the said county, Esquire, all such sum and sums of money as are due and owing to me for the purchase money of lands at Aldington aforesaid which formerly belonged to me and which were taken by the Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway Company for the purposes of the railway, the purchase whereof is not yet completed wheresoever the same sum and sums of money shall be or be invested together with all interest due thereon at my decease to be equally divided between them.  I give and bequeath to each my servants Ann Newman, John Hems and Thomas Chandler the sum of 19 guineas.  I devise all that my messuage or cottage and garden at Aldington aforesaid with the appurtenances now occupied by George Harwood unto and to the use of my said servant Ann Newman for her life and after her decease I devise the same messuage or cottage and garden with the appurtenances unto and to the use of my dear nephew William Henry Ashwin son of my late brother James Ashwin Esquire deceased absolutely.  I devise all that my messuage or cottage and garden at Aldington aforesaid with the appurtenances now occupied by my said servant John Hems unto him the said John Hems for his life and after his decease I devise the said last mentioned messuage or cottage and gardenwith the appurtenances unto my said nephew absolutely.  I devise all my messuage or cottage and garden at Aldington aforesaid with the appurtenances now occupied by the said Thomas Chandler unto him the said Thomas Chandler for his life and after this decease I devise the said last mentioned messuage or cottage and garden with the appurtenances unto my said nephew absolutely.  And as to all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy I give devise and bequeath the same respectively unto and to the use of my said nephew William Henry Ashwin his heirs executors and administrators and assigns absolutely.  And I appoint my said nephew the said William Henry Ashwin and the said George Eades Executors of his my will And lastly I hereby revoke all former and other wills declaring this writing alone to be my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I the said Richard Ashwin the testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this 21st day of May in the year of our Lord 1866.
