Executors and Trustees:  Arthur Harold Cross of 5 Cheltenham Road, Evesham, Solicitor’s Managing Clerk; Frederick Lewis of 60 Port Street, Evesham, Auctioneer’s Clerk

I, Alfred Henry Butler of Aldington Manor Farm, Aldington, Farmer, declare:

  • The whole of the household furniture and household effects in the house now occupied by me is the property of my wife, the same having been acquired by her many years ago.
  • All business carried on by me now or at the time of my death is in conjunction with my son, Wilson Henry Butler, as equal partners.
  • I direct my Executors to have a valuation made of all dead and live stock as soon as possible after my death and my son, Wilson Henry shall take to my half share thereof at such valuation.

I give:

  • To my Trustees, all my estate and effects both real and personal, upon trust in the first place to permit my wife, Julia Ann Butler, to have the income from therefrom during her life  and from and immediately after her decease
  • As to my two freehold cottages and land at Harvington upon trust for my son, Ernest Alfred Butler, for his life but should he predecease me then to his widow for her life and after the death of the survivor of them, then the property shall be divided between the issue then living of my son in equal shares as tenants in common.
  • As to my house, orchard, farm buildings and yards, etc at Blackminster, comprising the whole of the property purchased by me from Cadburys Limited (with the exception of the two cottages known as Lime Kiln Cottages and the piece of land adjoining formerly the Lime Kilns) upon trust for my son Percy James Butler for his life and from and after his decease to his wife for her life and after the death of the survivor of them the the property shall be divided between his issue in equal shares as tenants in common
  • As to my half share in the piece of land known as Top Blackminster Land, comprising about 14 acres and purchased from James Bean including the barn and buildings thereon for my son Wilson Henry Butler absolutely
  • As to my half share in the two cottages known as Lime Kiln Cottages together with the land adjoining formerly the Lime Kilns upon trust for my said son, Wilson Henry Butler absolutely
  • As to my War Loan of £600 for my daughter, Hilda Julia Ann Hart, absolutely
  • As to the residue of my estate at the death of my wife upon trust to divide the same equally between all my children who may be then living, the issue of any child of min predeceasing me to take his or her parents ahares equally between them.
