Details of Will
A report in The Evesham Journal of 3rd June 1916 stated: "Mr Jerry Sharp of Aldington Mill, Aldington, Badsey, who died on February 17, left estate valued at £9,964. Testator left to his son £500 and the goodwill of his business; £200 to his daughter Edith; £800 to his daughter Annie; blocks of real estate to his three children and his daughter Edith Mary Kelland, and made his agent, Mr Arthur H Cross, his trustee. The residue of his property he left to his our children equally."
The lengthy will begins:
- To my son, John Sharp, the goodwill of the trade and business of a miller carried on by me at Aldington together with all the machinery, plant, implements, tools, horses, carts, carriages and all other effects used by me in the conduct of such business or in connection therewith but exclusive of all actual stock in trade consisting of corn, grain, flour and offal and together also with the lease for 21 years of an all interest thereunder in the messuages or dwelling-house with buildings and land situate at Aldington in which the said trade or business is carried on.
