ALDINGTON ANNIVERSARY

On Sunday the anniversary services of the Mission Sunday School were held. The preacher was Mr. A. J. Preece, of the Leysian Mission, London. In the afternoon the special feature was the display of flowers, which were afterwards sent to the Flower, Mission, London, by special train. On Monday evening a lecture descriptive of the Holy Land, its people, customs, etc., was given to a crowded audience. The singing of the children under the direction of Mr. W. Hartwell was much appreciated, and the collections amounted to £4 6s. 8d. Mr. H. Masters presided. Testimony was borne to the splendid work done by Mr. and Mrs. Hartwell for several years past among the young life of the village. Many of the boys trained in this school are now fighting in the trenches. Unfortunately Mrs. Hartwell in cycling to the service fell from her machine and was badly shaken. She is progressing favourably.
