Military Tribunals – Frederick John JINKS

Mr Harry Jinks, market gardener, Badsey, for whom Mr New appeared, applied on behalf of his son, Frederick J Jinks, aged 19, single, passed for general service. Mr Jinks said he occupied 18 acres of market garden land and 4 acres of pasture. He was entirely dependent on Frederick.

Mr Roberts appeared for Mr Harry Jinks, of Badsey, who appealed in respect of his son, Frederick John Jinks (18), single, passed for general service, who he claimed, was the real directing head of his business. Applicant has 18 acres of land and looks after 2½ acres for a son who is in the Army. The local Tribunal had given exemption conditional on no substitute being forthcoming, and it was this condition that was now appealed against.

Mr Roberts appeared for Mr H Jinks, of Badsey, who appealed for his son, Frederick John Jinks (19), single, who works on 18 acres of land. Mrs Jinks, the mother, gave evidence.

Mrs Jinks, of Badsey, appealed for her son, Frederick John Jinks (19), and said they had 18 acres of land. Her husband, Harry Jinks, suffered with ill health. Mr Cross represented Mrs Jinks, who said she had not been offered a substitute.
