Supporting Information

Joseph Fletcher Marshall (c1842-1928) was born at Dorsington, the eldest son and second of ten children of Joshua and Mary Marshall. Joseph was still at home in Dorsington in 1861 working as an agricultural labourer. He lived in Canada for a number of years, so it is assumed from the inscription in the book that he left England in 1870. At some time between 1881 and 1891, Joseph returned to England with his wife, Lucy Jane, and daughter, Rose Adeline. They settled in Badsey where his parents and some of his siblings were by then living and Joseph took up market gardening.
