Photograph of a man and woman outside Stone Cottage, Aldington, early 20th century; assumed to be Alice Heath (c1835-1926) and one of her sons, probably Charles (1861-1940), who did not marry. The Heath family lived at Stone Cottage for just over 90 years, from c1860 when Alice and her husband, Charles, first moved to Aldington, to 1951 when their eldest daughter, Mary Heath, died. The photo is mounted in a picture frame, framed by F M Tunnicliffe, 28 High Street, Leamington Spa, 21st December 1934. One of Alice's daughters, Sarah Anne Goodenough (1864-1937), lived in Leamington all her married life, so was presumably responsible for the framing.
The Heath family lived at Stone Cottage, Aldington, for just over 90 years, Charles Heath (c1832-1898) and his wife, Alice (c1835-1936), moving there in about 1860. Charles Heath Junior (1861-1940), who did not marry, died at Aldington in 1940. The last member of the Heath family to live in Stone Cottage was his sister, Mary Heath (c1859-1951), who retired to Aldington after years spent in service in Northumberland.
