1980s – Photo of Hill Crest, Broadway Road, Evesham

Colour photo (probably taken in the 1980s) of Hill Crest, Broadway Road, an 8-bedroom house, with 3 acres of garden and a lodge for the use of the gardener where the Stewart family moved to in the 1940s.  From humble beginnings, George Stewart, a self-made man working alongside his men, went from a semi to a mansion.  They lived there as a family until George and his wife, Evelyn, moved back to Badsey in the late 1950s.  Hill Crest was later turned into 8 flats by George, as a buyer  could not be found.
