1938 – Photo of Alfred Sparrow and guests at his 90th birthday celebration

This photograph was donated to the Braziers for the exhibition in 1971, either by Cyril Sladden or Juliet Sladden (the only two of eight Sladden siblings still living).

The photo was taken at a special service at St James’ Church, Badsey, to mark Alfred Sparrow’s 90th birthday.   The photo shows Alfred Sparrow with his daughter-in-law, Rosina (widow of his son, Louis), her sister, Annie Pittard (who lived with her for many years), his sister, Emma Keen, and the elderly William Mustoe and his housekeeper.
