BADSEY BRIDE IN SATIN AND LACE 

In a dress of lace and satin, Miss Eunice Jelfs, first daughter of Mr and the late Mrs T F Jelfs, of 28 Synehurst, Badsey, was married at the parish church of St James on Saturday. Her bridegroom was Mr George J Oakey, son of Mr & the late Mrs C H Oakey of Elmley Castle. He is a bus driver employed by the Midland "Red" Bus Co. The bride carried a bouquet of pink roses, lilies of the valley and stephanotis. She was attended by her sister, Christine, and two nieces of the bridegroom, Janet and Susan Blakeman. Miss Jelfs wore pink nylon over taffeta with matching headdress and shoes. The others wore blue and lemon nylon over taffeta, and all carried bouquets of white carnations and mauve freesias. Mr Lawson Oakey, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and the bride was given away by her father. The church service was conducted by the Rev Peter Braby with Mr G H Marshall at the organ. It was followed by a reception for 60 guests at the Royal Oak, Badsey. The honeymoon is being spent in South Devon, the bride travelling in a white and coffee coloured dress with lemon and mushroom accessories.
