PROUD RECORD OF BADSEY FAMILY
Mr & Mrs F C Jones of Badsey Fields Lane, Badsey, are justly proud of their family war record.
Mr F C Jones served in the Royal Artillery during the last war and for the present duration has been a special constable. He is 50 years old and has been married for 30 years.
Their eldest son, Lance Corporal Fred Jones, joined the RAOC in 1940 but was discharged six months ago. He is 29 years old and has been married for eight years. His home is at 16 Synehurst, Badsey.
The second son, Private Ron Jones, is 24 years old and joined the Royal Engineers in 1940. He served in France and was evacuated to Gibraltar where he remained for three years. He is now again serving on the continent. He has been married for four years and has two children. He holds the 1939-43 Star.
Private Cecil Jones, the youngest son, joined the Royal Tank Regiment in January 1940 and served in Egypt with Field Marshal Montgomery’s “Desert Rats”. He also took part in the landings in Italy and Sicily. Unfortunately he has been ill with malaria and has been convalescing in this country after taking part in the invasion of France. He was married a fortnight ago to Miss Joan Horton. He is 23 years old and holds the Africa Star.
