DISTRICT NEWS, BADSEY – BANKS-KNIGHT WEDDING
The wedding was solemnised on Monday at the Parish Church, the Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook, RD) officiating, of Miss Mary Knight, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs W Knight of Doralade, Bretforton Road, and Mr Leslie Banks, second son of Mr & Mrs C Banks of the Post Office, Bransford, Worcester. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a costume of lido blue with hat to match. She was attended as bridesmaid by Miss R Colwell of Worcester who wore a costume of fawn tweed with hat and shoes to match. Mr W Knight Junior acted as best man.
The bride moved, with her parents, to Worcester about 12 years ago, where her father took up a business. Her parents returned to Badsey at the beginning of this year, but the bride stayed on in Worcester where she was engaged at the Post Office.
The groom is well known in Badsey, having formerly been employed at Littleton & Badsey Station till his removal to take charge of Suckley Station about three years ago.
The couple were the recipients of numerous and useful presents. The honeymoon is being spent in touring London. A reception, which was held at the house of the bride’s parents, was attended by a number of the couple’s relatives and friends.
