Edmund Cooke, aged 78, buried Dec 10 1969.
Ted Cooke was a great servant of the Church in this place. He and Eva came to settle in this little corner of England about 30 years ago, and from that time the grace and charm of their Christian home has been a source of blessing to the neighbourhood. A Lancastrian who rendered distinguished service in the Royal Flying Corps during the Great War, Ted was a great lover of England and country lie, and soon had a special affection for his wife’s native county. As churchwarden for many years, he was a vigilant guardian of the church fabric and of all that it stood for. With his strong sense of duty, to God and neighbour, he had little patience for half-heartedness in Christian profession. He was a generous and devoted son of the Church. May his portion be in peace, and his dwelling in the heavenly Jerusalem. Mrs Eva Cooke has the warm and prayerful sympathy of us all.
