Dear Addis
I want to thank you and all the Ringers for your kindness in giving a muffled peal last Thursday, especially as I know there was some difficulty in getting a band together. My dear wife was so fond of the bells and took her part in providing the extra two for making up the full peal, it seemed so appropriate that they should ring out over her newly-made grave.
Please thank each of the Ringers and Chimers for their kind thought of me and my family in the hour of our distress.
Yours very truly
Julius Sladden
