WHITE WEDDING AT BADSEY – Mr J E Austin and Miss M Robinson
On Wednesday last week, Miss Muriel Robinson, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs H Robinson of Manor House, Badsey, was married at Badsey Church to Mr John Edward Austin, eldest son of Mr & Mrs F J Austin of Malvern View, Harvington.
The bride wore a white cloque dress with train. Her white veil was held in place with a headdress of lilies of the valley, and she carried a bouquet of camellias, lilies of the valley and white heather.
The three bridesmaids, Miss Audrey Robinson, Miss Isobel Robinson (sisters of the bride) and Miss Gillian Austin (the bridegroom’s sister) were all attired in dresses of white taffeta with white picture hats trimmed with pink ribbon. Their bouquets consider of lilies of the valley and white hyacinths.
The bride was given away by her father, and Mr David F Austin was best man.
The church was decorated with flowers and plants by Mr R Pearce of Wickhamford, and the choral service was conducted by the Vicar of Badsey, the Rev W Chapman, with Mr Henry King at the organ.
A reception followed at the Northwick Arms Hotel, and afterwards the happy couple left for a touring honeymoon in the south of England, the bride travelling in a stone-coloured suit with matching hat and black accessories. During the afternoon Badsey bell-ringers rang a wedding peal on St James’ bells.
