SERVICE WEDDING AT BADSEY – Private K Haines, ATS & Marine R Wyatt

St James’ Parish Church, Badsey, was the scene on Thursday last week of the wedding between Private Kathleen Haines, ATS, elder daughter of Mr & Mrs A G Haines of 7 Synehurst Avenue, Badsey, and Marine Roger Wyatt, youngest son of Mr & Mrs J Wyatt of Whitehouse, Old Broyle, Chichester.  

The bride was given away by her father and was dressed in ATS uniform.  The best man was Marine J Jarvis, a friend of the groom, and the service was conducted by the REV J G Jeffries, Vicar of Badsey.

A reception was held at the bride’s home, attended by 40 guests, following which the happy couple left for their honeymoon in South Wales, the b ride wearing a cinnamon brown two-piece costume and a nigger brown coat.  Many telegrams of good wishes were received by them, including a cable from the bride’s sister in British Columbia, Canada.
