Funeral of John Henry (Harry) Walters, aged 89 years, on March 17th 1977.
The older generation of Wickhamford parishioners would have known Harry Walters well. Born in the village, he was a member of one of the old Wickhamford families, and like so many of his friends and neighbours, he spent many of his years working on the land. He belonged to that generation who gave up much of their youth to fight in the Great War, a fact which was testified to by the presence of the Union Jack at his funeral. A bachelor, he was very close to his family in Wickhamford, especially his nephew and niece-in-law and his sister-in-law. May he rest in peace.
