My dear Sweetheart
My real letter in answer to yours received today will be written tonight but it won’t be done in time to catch the post as I have to go to Evesham this afternoon. These are just a few lines to cheer you up and to tell you I am not very surprised your leave is postponed because I did not read into your telegram anything very definite, but only hoped for the best. Your people were much more hopeful than I. I thought you would get leave some time or other but that you’d be exceedingly lucky if you got it straight off. The only thing that bothers me was wondering if you wished us to marry when you came home and if so whether I ought to make any arrangements. Of course now I know that it may be a couple of months or even more before “C” class gets a look in, I shall simply jog along until I hear something definite from you.
Cheer up, dear old Boy, everything comes to those who wait. I’ll write at length tonight.
God bless you, my own dear One, very fondest love.
From
Your devoted Sweetheart
