My dear Mother
Thank you for my letter. Last Saturday I went to Bowers Hill with Tom James in the brewery cart all by my little self. Tom James had two glasses of beer. I am rather dull without you when the others are at lessons. We had a young cock for dinner yesterday. I have not been to Mrs Evans lately because it has been so wet. Please give my love to Christine and with love and kisses to you.
I am your loving
Cyril
