My dear Father
The exodus begins tonight. Our turn will come any time after Monday night, and probably not after Wednesday or Thursday at the latest, but no orders have yet been issued.
We expect to sail from Avonmouth but this is unofficial. The base for British troops as distinct from Colonials is Malta, so I suppose we shall put in there.
I will write again but have no time now.
Best love to all from
Your affectionate son
