..... I have succeeded in getting some eggs for them & hope I may get them home without smashes; they must try & get a hen waiting to sit by the time I get home.

I have been whiling away the time this afternoon by visiting the church of Bron, just outside the town, I have seen it before but it is well worth another visit; it is the burial place of some of the old Dukes of Savoy & the tracery in the canopies over the tombs is splendid, very much after the style of Tewkesbury; the choir stalls too are beautifully carved oak.  I saw Father for about half an hour on Wednesday he is looking wonderfully well & seems in good spirits; Joe also looks well, but Fannie was out & Gus in the south of France.

Give my love to all the dear children & kiss them all for me & with fond love to yourself dear

Believe me
Your loving wife
Eugénie N Sladden
