Hôtel Beau Site
Interlaken
28th June 1908
My dear May,
I was very pleased to get your letters the other day, more especially as through some muddle of the hotel people, several of my letters got delayed, & I began to wonder why I heard from nobody.
We are having very hot weather & are glad to have a quiet day as yesterday we had a long day out. We all four started by an early train, soon after nine to go to Mürren, a little village quite up in the mountains, she & I very often go about on our own hook when the others want to do something that does not suit us; we had one lovely afternoon down to Thun on the steamer, it was so nice on the water & Thun is a dear old place, very quaint & reminding me of Chester.
I hope you will have it fine at Frinton & enjoy the sea air & that it will do you good, I think I shall enclose this letter to Kathleen to post on to you, as I daresay she will know your address there, & I don’t. We stay here till next Monday & shall go straight through to Paris & on next day to England.
With much love dear
I am
Your loving mother
