My Darling Wife

While I am waiting for the drayman to come home, before I go to dinner, I will drop you a line that you may receive in the morning.  I suppose you just saw Mrs Willie after I left before you completed your toilet and by this time I hope you will have tried the experiment of sitting up, it is so nice to think that my “little wife” is recovering her strength.  I have just received a letter from Austen Gardner which I may perhaps answer this evening before Ridgeway returns, I hope we may have a nice little consignment to send up to C. Norton after his visit.  To-morrow and the next day we shall be brewing and I hope it will turn out well.

Give our boy his father’s kiss please and with fondest love believe me ever

Your affect. Husband

Julius Sladden
