My Dearest Wife,
Although I posted a letter to you last evening I will write again this morning, before starting for Deal, or you will not get a letter at all to-morrow. Frank came up last evening but I have not seen Edith yet, I must run down to Guston one day this week. I hope you are getting on all right in my absence.
The weather here is fine & bright but the wind is cold. I shall leave all news till my return. Mother is keeping pretty well. With much love to yourself and the little ones.
I am ever
your affectionate Husband
Julius Sladden
