My Dearest Wife,
Very sorry you cannot come home but hope the bilious attack will soon be over. Why not stay till Saturday I shall then be at home to see about meeting you &c, Pandy & Newport to-morrow & Friday. Am very busy, Collier taken another week’s holiday. The chicks are all well they were looking forward to seeing you this evening. I must arrange to fetch the girls from Bretforton by & bye. Write me on receipt of this, Post Office Newport that I may know your movements.
Your affectionate Husband
Julius Sladden
Tell Fanny I think, if convenient to her, it would be better for you to stay till Saturday and come by 4.45 to Evesham.
