My dearest wife

Just a line after breakfast to enclose a letter from Cyril and postcard from Mela both of which arrived this morning. Some of us will write soon. Last evening we went round the Manor House and saw the furniture, a queer collection containing some good things but not many that I should hanker after. The sale is at 2 pm today; there have been a lot of people looking round and I hear various opinions are expressed as to the desirability of the place. I fancy they are not generally favourable, but some of the antiques take a different view. We are getting on all right. It was fairly fine yesterday and bright this morning, but big clouds still moving about. You had better send back my letters when done with that I may have them when replying to the various writers.

Much love from all here.

Your loving husband
Julius Sladden
