Letters from Barbara Evelyn Mia Brown Constable (1895-1976), sister of Mela Brown Constable

Barbara Evelyn Mia Brown Constable (1895-1976), was the sister of Mela Brown Constable, Cyril Sladden’s fiancée.

The Imperial War Museum contains two letters:  one written from Boulogne to her future brother-in-law, Cyril Sladden, in 1914, and one to her sister, Mela, in November 1916, written shortly after confirmation of their brother Cecil’s death four months earlier at the Battle of the Somme.
