My dear Ethel
Another half sheet for you, but I manage to get a good deal into one of these half sheets don’t I?
Thank you for your last letter. I quite envy you taking Baba up to Richmond, how jolly it will be if you take her to see Kathleen as K. says she will make quite a sensation there. I only wish I could be there too. I wonder if you will manage to go to Windsor too & if so whether you will take Baba. I expect Baby will enjoy herself very much at Richmond especially if she sees little Edwin. Give her my love & a kiss & tell her I hope she will be a very good little girl all the time.
Who is going to be left in charge of the house while you are all away? When you come back it will not be long before the party begin to reassemble, & I hope in August we shall be all the full ten, at home.
I have probably nine more Sundays here after today, I shall be very glad to see England again now, though I shall be sorry to leave here.
I hope your new coat & skirt is a success, I expect by the end my time here my wardrobe will want furbishing up. I have vague ideas of having a dress made here before I go home, I should like to have a French made skirt they certainly do know how to make skirts, but I don’t know whether I shall or not. I shall not get a hat as it would only get spoilt in packing & besides I do not care much for the present fashion in hats here, but I must say the dresses rather tempt me, & another thing I do not think they are dear in France provided of course one does not go to a very swell shop.
I must stop now & go & post my letters. I hope you will have a pleasant visit at Richmond & fine weather.
With much love from
your loving sister
May E Sladden
