Biographical Details
Miriel Margarett Walton (1906-1989) was the great-niece of Eugénie Sladden, being the granddaughter of her sister, Mary Anna Robinson.
Miriel was born at Pembridge House, Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, on 27th February 1906, the fourth of five children of Charles Henry and Fanny Walton. She is mentioned in four letters written by her grandmother, Mary Anna (Polly) Robinson, to her sister, Eugénie.
Miriel, like her sisters, remained single. Unlike her sisters, she was not musical; instead she ran a tea-room in Twickenham called Miriel’s.
Miriel died in the Bracknell district in 1989.
