Biographical Details

Phyllis Myfanwy Walton (1907-1971), known as Myfanwy, was the great-niece of Eugénie Sladden, being the granddaughter of her sister, Mary Anna Robinson.

Myfanwy was born at Pembridge House, Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, on 11th August 1907, the youngest of five children of Charles Henry and Fanny Walton.  She is mentioned in four letters written by her grandmother, Mary Anna (Polly) Robinson, to her sister, Eugénie.  Myfanwy was too young when these letters were written for comment to be made on her musical ability, but in adulthood she was an accomplished pianist and artist.

Myfanwy, like her sisters, remained single.  In the 1930s and during the Second World War, Myfanwy and her sister, Eleanor, ran a kindergarten which was in a room built over the garage at Pembridge House.

Myfanwy died at Twickenham on 24th June 1971.
