Ann Eliza STYLES (née LIVETT) (1847-1942)

Ann Eliza Styles, née Livett (1847-1942), was a friend of Mary Anna Robinson in Richmond; Mary Anna was the sister of Eugénie Sladden.

Ann Livett was born at Wells, Somerset, in 1847, the daughter of Henry William Livett, a doctor and at one stage Mayor of Wells, and his wife, Mary Ann.

Ann married civil servant, Robert Henry Poole Styles, at Wells in 1873.  They had three daughters, all born at Wells:  Mary (1874), Agnes (1875) and Helen Annie (1876).  From Wells they moved to Westbury-on-Trym, Gloucestershire, where they were living in 1881 and then to Richmond some time in the 1880s where they lived at 29 Mount Ararat Road, Richmond.  They became friendly with the Robinson family who lived not far away.

Robert Styles died on 30th Mary 1912.  Ann remained in Richmond for a time, but then moved to Teddington.

Ann died at 50 Hampton Road, Teddington, Middlesex, on 20th January 1942.
