Geoffrey Crawhall Schenk (1894-1969) was the youngest brother of Harold Schenk who was the schoolfriend of Arthur Sladden.
Geoffrey Schenk was born in 1894 at Manchester, the youngest of seven children of August Oswald Schenk, a civil engineer, and his wife, Ellen.
At the start of WW1, Geoffrey was in the Public Schools Battalion. A letter of 3rd December 1915 revealed that he had been wounded but was well enough to write his own postcard.
Geoffrey married Ethel E Papworth in 1924 in Kent. At the time of the 1939 register, Geoffrey and Ethel were living at 26 Cromwell Road, March, Cambridgeshire. Geoffrey was a flour milling rollerman and Ethel was a school mistress.
Geoffrey died in 1969 in March, Cambridgeshire.
