John Hubert SLADDEN (1909-1969)

John Hubert Sladden (1909-1969), known as Jack, was the great-nephew of Julius Sladden, being the son of Hubert Sladden, who was the son of Julius’ elder brother, Dilnot (1842-1906).  He is mentioned in a picture postcard sent by his grandmother on Christmas Day 1916.

Jack Sladden was born at Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand, on 4th April 1909, the second of four children of Hubert and Lita Sladden.

On 2nd September 1936, Jack married Elizabeth Joanna Flannery.  Jack died at Taupo on 2nd July 1969, aged 60.
