Anna Eudocia RAWLINSON (1834-1920)
Anna Rawlinson was the sister of Creswicke Rawlinson who was a friend of Julius Sladden when he lived in Chipping Norton in the 1870s.
Anna Eudocia Rawlinson (1834-1920) was born at Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, in 1834, the eldest of three children of Abraham Lindow Rawlinson, a solicitor, and his wife, Sarah (née Smith). Her brother, Abram Henry, died in infancy, so that left just Anna and Abram Creswicke. She grew up at The Elm, Clay Lane, Chipping Norton, and was educated at a boarding school in Clifton, Bristol.
Anna, described as a Fund Holder, was visiting Catherine Lloyd in Holywell, Oxford, in 1861. In 1871 she was living with her widowed father at The Elm, Chipping Norton. By 1891 she was Principal of the High School in Altrincham, Cheshire. Two of her nieces, Ruby and Ivy, were boarders there.
Anna had retired by 1911 and was living at 39 Avenue Gardens, Acton, London. She died at Acton on 6th February 1920.
