Devon - Budleigh Salterton: Highfield

Highfield, Budleigh Salterton, Devon, was the home of Edward Simpson and his wife, Mary (née Robinson), who was the niece of Eugénie Sladden.  Highfield is mentioned in several letters:  when Mary Anna (Polly) Robinson went to visit her daughter, and when May and Kathleen each went to visit their cousin, Mary, in 1916.

Highfield is located at the top end of Sherbrook Hill, just a short distance from the coast.  The house today has been divided into two flats.
