Persia (Iran) - Gilan Province

Gilan Province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. It lies along the Caspian Sea, bordering the Republic of Azerbaijan in the north, as well as Russia across the Caspian Sea.  The capital is Resht and the main harbour port is Bandar-e Anzali (also referred to as Enzeli).  Cyril Sladden spent time in Gilan Province from August to November 1918.
