Cecil Sturt served as a mechanic in Western Desert with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (R.E.M.E.) - Tank Corps. No further details have been found to date.
He was the son of Ernest and Clara Sturt who ran Leystones Garage on Longdon Hill, Wickhamford, and he worked as a motor mechanic in 1939.
On 14th March 1945 he married Iris May Taylor in Wickhamford and his occupation was recorded as "Craftsman R.E.M.E.".
