Drunk in the Wickhamford Road

Charles Stanford, labourer, Wickhamford Mill, was charged with being drunk while in charge of a horse on the Bretforton Road on April 4th. Henry Stewart, Badsey, said he saw defendant fall from a cart into the road. He got up into the cart again and drove down the road for Littleton. The horse was taken out of the cart and defendant laid down to have a sleep. Defendant said this was the first time he had got drunk and he hoped it would be the last. He had two pints of beer and half a pint of cider during the morning and then he went to the Sandys Arms and he did not know what he had there. Fined 15s, including the costs.
