Text of Letter

My dear Juliet

I am enclosing a few lines in Anna’s letter.  Many thanks for yours received today.

Can’t you join me at Reading 1 pm on Monday 16th as I shall be taking Norah to that station to return to Canterbury while I motor on to Badsey that day, it only means staying over the Sunday and it would be nice to have a companion.

Norah and I are staying a weekend at Wokingham so I shall have only a little way to get to Reading; should Wokingham suit better for you it would have to be earlier.  Shall I incur the wrath of May and Ethel if you stay two days longer?

What a pity Ethel had bad weather, but perhaps when fine it is very hot - it is here.  Norah has not been well and besides Anna, first we had Miss Menevy and then Cecil Eastgate so I have been busy.  I am having Melba decarbonised for the second time, presently I am going down to fetch her and call at the Elgars - Mrs E is quite ill again.

We leave here on the 13th Sept and our address will be

At Luckley
Wokingham

Love from Marian
