Surrey - Norbiton: Moreford Lodge

Norbiton, formerly in Surrey, is an area within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, which is now part of London.

Moreford Lodge in Norbiton was the home of Eugenié Sladden’s sister, Fanny Butler, and family.  Fanny had married Charles Butler at the British Embassy in Paris in July 1872.  Moreford Lodge was their first married home, where they moved to after returning from honeymoon in Brussels.  The first three of their nine children were born at Moreford Lodge.  They lived there until early 1878 when they moved to Surbiton.
