Parish Newsletters 1979-1996
From January 1979, the style of the parish magazine changed. Because of printing costs, the format became smaller (although it was produced with a coloured cover), at a cost of £1 per year (or 10p per individual copy). It was now an A5 booklet stapled at the centre and included an insert of a nationwide magazine, “The Sign”. The January, March and August 1980 magazines are missing. Over the years, the cost of the magazine began to rise as printing costs increased: to 12p per copy in 1984, 15p in 1985, 16p in 1987, 20p in 1989, 25p in 1992 and 30p in 1994.
From January 1981, the colour cover was replaced with a sketch map of Badsey, Aldington and Wickhamford by Michael Barnard; "The Sign" was no longer inserted. The format of Badsey, Aldington and Wickhamford Parish Review remained unchanged until December 1996.
The December 1996 Review announced that it was the last edition in the present format, to be replaced by a regular newsletter distributed free of charge to all homes in the parish. By now the parishes had split, with the Reverend Eric Waterhouse being temporary Priest in Charge of Badsey with Aldington and the Reverend Canon Peter Burch being Vicar of Wickhamford.
