Parish Newsletters 1998-2006

The December 1996 edition of Badsey, Aldington and Wickhamford Parish Review (price 30p per month distributed only to subscribers) had announced that it would be the last edition in that format, to be replaced by a regular newsletter distributed free of charge to all homes in the parish.  This was a radical departure for the village because it meant that news about the village was now reaching out to all parishioners in Badsey and Aldington for free (Wickhamford was no longer part of the benefice, having become part of Broadway benefice).

The new format was a simple A4 sheet folded in half to make an A5 pamphlet.  We assume that newsletters were produced in 1997, but these no longer survive.  Copies of the free leaflet were not retained in the Vicarage and, as a result, there is sparse coverage for the years 1998-1999.  If anyone has copies of the parish newsletter from these years, we would love to hear from you.

It is only from 2000 (when the very first Badsey website was created) that copies were kept on a regular basis.  The May 1996 newsletter was the last in the A5 leaflet format as a more ambitious newsletter was to be published from the following month.
