Form Completion
Census form completed by head of household
Name | Age and sex | Relation to head of family | Marital status | Occupation | Where born | Marriage & children details |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Frank BANNER | 50 yrs 0 mths
M |
Head | Married | Licenced Victualler (Own Account); Place of work - Wickhamford | At sea | 1 child under 16 |
Badsey Society notes: 1881, 1891, 1901 & 1911 census returns all say that Frank was born at Leigh, Worcestershire. Whilst Frank appears to have signed the form to say it was correct (though this signature appears to differ from his 1911 signature), the actual return appears to have been completed by a different hand. Possibly Frank said he had been born "At Leigh" and the person who completed the form misheard it as "At Sea"?! | ||||||
Edith BANNER | 40 yrs 1 mth
F |
Wife | Married | Assisting in public house duties and home duties; Employer - F Banner, Licenced Victualler; Place of work - Wickhamford | Leigh, Lancashire | |
Badsey Society notes: Place of birth should be Leigh, Worcestershire, not Leigh, Lancashire. | ||||||
Joy BANNER | 2 yrs 6 mths
F |
Daughter | Both alive | Wickhamford, Worcestershire | ||
Ethel BANNER | 26 yrs 2 mths
F |
Sister | Single | Home duties | Leigh, Lancashire | |
Badsey Society notes: Place of birth should be Leigh, Worcestershire. Ethel could possibly have been Henda Edith Banner, born 1892, who was Frank's sister, or Ethel Banner, who was a sister of Frank's wife, Edith (Frank and Edith were first cousins). |
